Jill and I join the people of Buffalo in honoring the memories of the 10 souls stolen from us in an unconscionable act of hatred against the Black community two years ago. I know how painful these anniversaries can be, and I want you to know you remain in my prayers.

Maybe your family has been here for generations or you’re the first one here.   Maybe you never thought you’d be here at the White House.   But you are here in the People’s House, your house.   And I see you.

Every individual who joined me at tonight's Asian American and Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander history celebration represents a simple truth. There is no singular AANHPI identity. It’s your diversity and breadth of achievement that has strengthened the fabric of America.
