A few thunderstorms are developing across the I-95 corridor in south central CT this evening. These storms are moving towards the southeast and may contain small hail.

[5 Day Forecast]: A cooling trend begins Thursday and will continue through the upcoming weekend. A few showers are possible Thursday, potentially a bit more widespread Thursday night. Showers and cooler conditions expected Friday. Clouds and a few showers possible this weekend.

A few gusty thunderstorms are possible today from mid afternoon until around sunset, mainly across southern Connecticut (per the 10 AM forecast cycle of the HRRR model below), and perhaps also as far west as Putnam and Westchester counties.

Clouds from this morning and early afternoon are clearing. We are now monitoring for the development of showers and a few thunderstorms, mainly across the interior and S CT. Currently storms are firing well to our north in western MA.

A special weather statement has been issued for New London CT, Groton CT and Pawcatuck CT until 8:30 PM EDT
