An approaching cold front late Wednesday into Thursday will trigger some thunderstorms across the region which could bring gusty winds and small hail. Storms will be more isolated to scattered this evening before becoming more numerous on Thursday.

We have another example of the wide range of temps across the area due to the sea breeze influence. We are seeing a spread from the upper 60s along the coast to the mid-upper 80s inland. Currently at Paterson, NJ, the temp is 84°F. However at Montauk, it is only 68°F. @EarthCam

2pm temperatures around the area are highly dependent on location. Some locations N and W of NYC are in the middle 80s, but locations on Long Island are in the 60s. Sea breeze enhancements near the coast are holding temperatures down, while a light SW flow inland is warmer.

Another warm day with mostly sunny skies expected for Wednesday. Highs north and west of NYC will reach the upper 80s while NYC and interior Connecticut will be in the lower to middle 80s. Closer to the coast, temperatures will be in the 70s.
