8:09am-Showers continue to lift north & west from central VA this morning. Meanwhile, a stalled front remains along I-66/US-50. South of this front is where severe weather will be possible later this afternoon & evening. Wind, hail, & isolated flooding are the main concerns.

Periods of heavy rainfall forecast across the Gulf Coast states next week and early into week 2 will increase river and flash flood potential, especially for parts of eastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana, which have picked up 10-20 inches of rainfall over the past two weeks.
