Major League Baseball will incorporate statistics from the Negro Leagues into its record books. That means some of the greatest players from those leagues, like Josh Gibson, will move into the top 10 ranks in the records. @IAmAmnaNawaz spoke to Gibson's great-grandson, Sean.

The only question I have about the Negro League stats being integrated is what stats make the cut and what don’t? By some estimates, Josh Gibson hit 800+ home runs, but only 160 count? I applaud the thought, but question the execution.

The MLB will now include statistics from the Negro Leagues – a move that will acknowledge over 2000 Black players. Because of this, Hall of Famer Josh Gibson now leads in multiple batting categories including batting average, slugging percentage and on-base plus slugging.
