Major League Baseball will incorporate statistics from the Negro Leagues into its record books. That means some of the greatest players from those leagues, like Josh Gibson, will move into the top 10 ranks in the records. @IAmAmnaNawaz spoke to Gibson's great-grandson, Sean.

The MLB will now include statistics from the Negro Leagues – a move that will acknowledge over 2000 Black players. Because of this, Hall of Famer Josh Gibson now leads in multiple batting categories including batting average, slugging percentage and on-base plus slugging.

When I was a little kid, Jackie Robinson was my hero, a baseball player with long history and roots in the Negro Leagues. Long overdue, thank God, and about time that @MLB finally recognizes the absolutely amazing achievements of so many from the Negro Leagues. Embrace the joy!
