In July 2020, Netflix cancelled the series due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two crossovers with Riverdale occurred during the sixth season of the latter series, providing closure to plot points from Sabrina. A comic book series continuation, titled The Occult World of Sabrina, was also announced.

Netflix announced that season 4 would be the end of the series, and that pretty much let people know that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 5 was not coming.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is being revived — with a twist. The Netflix series was cancelled after four seasons in December but the character will return in comic book form later this year, in a collaboration between CAOS showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Archie Comics.

The good news is that a new comic book series, The Occult World of Sabrina, picks up from where the Netflix show left off. It might not be the same as new episodes of the Netflix show, but it does offer an official continuation of the story that fans otherwise wouldn't be getting.
